Khyber Customs AKM/74 "Swiss" Cheese Grater Upper Handguard

 

The Original “Cheese Grater Upper Handguard” was designed in 2016 and produced by Khyber Customs in Houston, TX. Our product is the ONLY product on the market that includes a superior Melonite QPQ Coating (vs. Black Oxide or Phosphate) which provides improved corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and case hardening. These handguards are designed to be adjusted by the end user to get a precise fit to a wide tolerance of gas tubes. Made in USA since 2016.

 

Compatibility: These handguards are compatible with most AKM and AK74 pattern gas tube, and will replace any factory 4.25”-4.45" upper handguard.

This includes but is not limited to – WASR, AES-10B RPK, VSKA, PSAK47, PSA AK-V, MAK90, Arsenal SAM/SLR (not UR/K models), Saiga SGL, Vepr12, Draco (Full Size), Draco Nak9, Hellpup, KUSA KP-9/KR-9, IO Sporter, and many more.

 

Please note that changing out hand fit, factory parts with aftermarket parts & accessories may require hand fitting by the end user. For customers that are not equipped with basic tools or experience with hand fitting parts, we recommend seeking out the assistance of a competent gunsmith.     This is a solid and good looking hunk o' metal. Some minor fitting was required (about 15 minutes worth) on my PSA AK-V, but that is to be expected. The length was spot on, so the fitting involved slightly widening the bottom on both ends so it fit snugly on the gas tube. I have no wiggle or slop side to side or front to back. It's worth the price and a real aesthetic upgrade. Shipping was reasonable and quick. Thanks Khyber Customs -

    Looks amazing. Needed some minor adjusting with pliers, but it fits in nice and snug.

    Nice addition to a Veper 12. twisted right on after a couple of minutes of messing with it. Very sturdy, well made product.

    I bought this for my SLR107R. It was great to have this "swiss" grater arrive and realize that I wanted to get it on my rifle immediately. The quality is outstanding. Heavy duty. No cheap soda can gauge metal here. It is solid. The reinforcement tabs on the inside ends is a great touch to help it sit solid in the handguard retainers. As far as looks go this grater is more aesthetically pleasing than you actually expect. And I was expecting it to look good to begin with. It surpassed those expectations rather easily. I will be buying more. You cannot go wrong with a Khyber Custom swiss grater!

    This looks great on my standard length AK. Required a small amount of bending towards both edges to get it slotted into the gas tube and a fair amount of elbow grease to get it seated but it's on there and there's no play, it's solid. I expected that so that's a non issue. Also, thanks for the stickers!

    The Wasr is looking sharp!

    Always wanted to grab one of these but never did until recently. Best decision I have made in a long time. Totally made my Wasr 10/63 look like a new gun! Fitment was required but it usually is with anything AK related. Great product, the guys at Khyber are awesome as always and sent me stickers too! 5/5 for the grater and 10/10 for Khyber!

    Great product!! Fits a little snug and may need some slight bending but adds a really great look and functional piece to my and any other ak platform.
