Khyber Customs AKM/74 "Swiss" Cheese Grater Upper Handguard

 

The Original “Cheese Grater Upper Handguard” was designed in 2016 and produced by Khyber Customs in Houston, TX. Our product is the ONLY product on the market that includes a superior Melonite QPQ Coating (vs. Black Oxide or Phosphate) which provides improved corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and case hardening. These handguards are designed to be adjusted by the end user to get a precise fit to a wide tolerance of gas tubes. Made in USA since 2016.

 

Compatibility: These handguards are compatible with most AKM and AK74 pattern gas tube, and will replace any factory 4.25”-4.45" upper handguard.

This includes but is not limited to – WASR, AES-10B RPK, VSKA, PSAK47, PSA AK-V, MAK90, Arsenal SAM/SLR (not UR/K models), Saiga SGL, Vepr12, Draco (Full Size), Draco Nak9, Hellpup, KUSA KP-9/KR-9, IO Sporter, and many more.

 

Please note that changing out hand fit, factory parts with aftermarket parts & accessories may require hand fitting by the end user. For customers that are not equipped with basic tools or experience with hand fitting parts, we recommend seeking out the assistance of a competent gunsmith.     It's perfect looks snazzy it fits on my e&l airsoft gun it did take a bit of filing to get it to a proper fit but this isn't a real gun so it will fit perfectly in a real 74

    I needed to use tools because the install was too tight to do by hand. Now that it’s on it looks and feels great.

    Highly recommend this product if you’re looking for a cool upper handguard that is high quality and made in the USA. It was a perfect fit for my Century C39 V2. There is no wiggle, no rattle, and it updated the look of an aging gun.

    Nice cheese grater for AKM

    Was packaged good, and was shipped in a timely matter, and free shipping too. It took me about 30min to get mounted, it was a tight fit, but it looks bad A$$. Always wanted a cheese grater upper handguard on my AK, I got one now. Thanks Kyhber Custom.

    Well Made/Solid But Can Be Difficult to install

    The end result of this 1 hour project is a great looking looking, sturdy vented hand guard on my Romanian under-folder with forward dong. However. getting it on was a learning experience. Do watch the KC video on installation. Well done and informative. As packaged, the guard was set much wider than my variant. Hammering on it, like the KC video shows, was not effective enough. So I viced it. As the hand guard and circumferences are different at each end, I used a door shim to support the narrow end and ensure both ends were uniformly bent in when pressure was applied. Once your happy with your bending, follow instructions supplied in the KC video. As my parts were battlefield pick-up I had to do some banging on the guard with a dead blow hammer to persuade it to twist the full circumference. I would buy Again

    I purchased the AKM Swiss Cheese Grater for my Mak 90 and the fit was perfect. A little squeeze with my hand to get the corners in place then roll right into position. The heat reduction is fantastic! A few mags were dumped with no glove on. Very satisfied and will be purchasing more item soon. Shipping was quick. Thank you Khyber Customs !!
