Khyber Customs AKM/74 "Swiss" Cheese Grater Upper Handguard

 

The Original “Cheese Grater Upper Handguard” was designed in 2016 and produced by Khyber Customs in Houston, TX. Our product is the ONLY product on the market that includes a superior Melonite QPQ Coating (vs. Black Oxide or Phosphate) which provides improved corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and case hardening. These handguards are designed to be adjusted by the end user to get a precise fit to a wide tolerance of gas tubes. Made in USA since 2016.

 

Compatibility: These handguards are compatible with most AKM and AK74 pattern gas tube, and will replace any factory 4.25”-4.45" upper handguard.

This includes but is not limited to – WASR, AES-10B RPK, VSKA, PSAK47, PSA AK-V, MAK90, Arsenal SAM/SLR (not UR/K models), Saiga SGL, Vepr12, Draco (Full Size), Draco Nak9, Hellpup, KUSA KP-9/KR-9, IO Sporter, and many more.

 

Please note that changing out hand fit, factory parts with aftermarket parts & accessories may require hand fitting by the end user. For customers that are not equipped with basic tools or experience with hand fitting parts, we recommend seeking out the assistance of a competent gunsmith.     Very Nice, worked great on a C39v2. Only issue, mine came black, where the picture shows raw shinny metal. I was going to camo the AK anyway so no biggy, but just a FYI for those who are looking for the metal look.

    These handguards are top quality. I purchased two of them, one for my Russian AK-47 and the other for my Russian AK-74. Fitting them took a very minimal amount of metal bending to the handguards in order for them to go on the gas tube assembly and fit snuggly. The finish is very durable and they really added a lot of visual appeal to both rifles. If you want a handguard like this, then Khyber Customs is the only one that I know of that make one and a good job they do of it too !! The products were shipped very promptly and very well packaged and I proudly give it my highest rating and recommendations.

    I love the look of it! Installation was a little bit of a pain until I figured out to use a castle wrench, a vice, and some oil so it was user error if anything, and then it slid on great. They sent some awesome stickers too! :D
